It was through a chance student job as a shampooer at the age of 18 that Yannick first set foot in the hair salon that is now U Salon Boutique. First to arrive and last to leave, he didn’t count his hours because he loved the atmosphere and the myriad tasks he was given. So much so that a beautiful and long love affair with hairdressing was already beginning to unfold… Yannick worked there throughout college before enrolling in an intensive private hairdressing course. He continued to perfect his technique by attending every possible advanced training seminar, both here and in London, the city par excellence for avant-garde hairdressing. In the process, he caught the attention of L’Oréal Professionnel, a brand with which he collaborated for 14 years as a hairstylist-educator on sets, in shows, and in training courses. Now a collaborator for La Biosthétique, he travels to Paris every year to keep his finger on the pulse of trends, collections, and the latest techniques.

Yannick has been with U Salon boutique for over 25 years and became a co-owner a few years ago, driven by a desire to train staff and continuously improve the working environment. What motivates him most in his job is the opportunity to transform people’s perception of themselves, one comb and pair of scissors at a time. So passionate is he that it doesn’t feel like work. He never experiences monotony and enjoys seeing history rewritten with each client who sits in his chair. He loves having the privilege of celebrating life’s milestones alongside his clients and helping them age gracefully and beautifully. He strives to understand each person’s habits and desires so that they can easily recreate their look on their own. Although he has worked with many public figures—from Ginette Reno to France D’Amour—Yannick B. is above all inspired by simplicity, naturalness, effortless chic, and each person’s unique style.
